Job Title: Treatment Process Officer
Location: South Australia
Flexible across SA Water sites (Marla, Oodnadatta, Maree, Leigh Creek, Hawker)
Roster: Monday to Friday (with travel requirements to remote sites)

The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Treatment Process Officer with a strong background in chemical analysis lab testing, and wastewater processes. The successful candidate will provide expert technical support across wastewater, recycled water, and biosolids operations, ensuring plant performance meets regulatory and operational requirements.
This role requires a solutions-focused, flexible, and practical thinker who can manage operational challenges, support field operators, and deliver improvements across multiple remote and regional plants. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop procedures, optimise treatment processes, and contribute to the overall safety and efficiency of SA Water operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide expert advice to support operational communication, customer trust, and high-quality service delivery.
* Ensure safety and wellbeing of self and team in accordance with WHS procedures.
* Deliver technical support for wastewater, recycled water, and biosolids treatment processes.
* Develop, review, and implement operating procedures and performance targets for treatment plants.
* Conduct laboratory analyses, collect operational data, and interpret results to maintain optimal plant performance.
* Identify and implement process and equipment improvements, engaging operators in continuous improvement initiatives.
* Troubleshoot operational issues and support root cause investigations (RCAs).
* Ensure compliance with regulatory and licensing requirements, supporting quality management systems.
* Participate in performance reviews, team meetings, and manage training and leave requirements.
* Travel to regional and remote sites as required, using SA Water vehicles for operational visits.
Essential Skills and Experience
* Strong background in chemical, lab testing, and wastewater treatment processes.
* Practical technical skills with a solutions-oriented mindset and high integrity.
* Experience working safely in regional or remote environments.
* Ability to troubleshoot operational issues and support process optimisation.
* Well-developed analytical skills to interpret lab and operational data.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with operators, management, and stakeholders.
* Flexibility and willingness to travel regularly to remote SA Water sites.
* Drivers license (essential).
* Relevant tertiary qualifications in chemical, environmental, or water engineering disciplines are desirable.
