We are seeking an experienced and strategic HSEQ Lead to drive our Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality performance across our manufacturing and site operations. This is a senior leadership role reporting directly to the CEO, responsible for shaping strategy, ensuring ISO compliance, and embedding a proactive, high-performance safety culture across the business.
About the Role
Reporting to the CEO, the HSEQ Lead will oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of our integrated HSEQ management systems, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements. This is an onsite role based in Cardup, WA, requiring active engagement with operations and teams on the ground.
You will act as the key advisor to the CEO and senior leadership team on HSEQ risks and opportunities while driving accountability and shared ownership of safety, environmental responsibility, and quality outcomes across all site operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop, implement, and continuously improve the company’s HSEQ strategy, policies, and ISO-accredited management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
* Lead compliance with Australian WHS and environmental legislation, standards, and codes of practice.
* Oversee risk management, incident investigations, audits, and corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
* Manage high-risk operations, including mobile plant, crane operations, stressing beds, confined spaces, and hot works.
* Drive safety culture initiatives through toolbox talks, training, engagement, and staff empowerment.
* Lead emergency preparedness and response planning, including fire, hazardous materials, and bushfire risks.
* Champion environmental sustainability, waste reduction, and compliance with pollution and land management regulations.
* Deliver HSEQ training programs, maintain competency assessments, and monitor contractor and supplier compliance.
* Maintain HSEQ data, reporting, and dashboards to inform strategic decision-making for the CEO and senior leadership.
* Act as the primary point of contact for external audits, inspections, and regulatory bodies.
* Advise leadership on HSEQ risks, trends, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related discipline
* Current First Aid Qualification
* Current Fire Warden or Emergency Response qualification
* Construction White Card
* Valid WA Driver’s Licence
* Incident investigation training (e.g. ICAM) desirable
* Cert IV in Training & Assessing desirable
Experience & Skills
* 5+ years’ experience in senior HSEQ leadership roles within manufacturing, construction, or heavy industrial environments
* Demonstrated experience managing high-risk operations and heavy mobile plant environments
* Proven experience developing, implementing, and maintaining ISO-accredited HSEQ management systems
* In-depth knowledge of Australian WHS and environmental legislation
* Strong background in incident investigation, risk mitigation, and safe work procedure development
* Experience leading environmental sustainability initiatives
* High-level leadership, communication, and influencing capability
* Strong analytical, prioritisation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
