MYER Group is looking for a Leasing Paralegal to support the Property Legal team in negotiating and processing all relevant leasing legal documentation, along with supporting the broader Property Team and the broader business in managing the retail lease portfolio and property-related issues.

About the role:
* Process and assist colleagues to negotiate and settle legal documents with solicitors or landlords
* Ensuring documents received from landlords reflect commercial deal struck between lease executives and landlord
* Reviewing and clarifying lease clauses and legislation
* Preparing contract approval terms and arranging approvals and execution of documents
* Comparing legal documents with national standards agreed with major landlords
* Managing negotiations with landlords to finalise leases and lease related documentation
* Maintaining and updating database in relation to all new leases, relocations, expansions and lease renewals assisting with ad hoc legal projects
* Coordinate and assist Property Legal and broader Property Team, and property management functions
* Reporting on major landlord outstanding leases
* Assisting with miscellaneous commercial matters
* Liaise with Store Development team on handover dates, store open dates
* Providing general paralegal and administrative support as required
* Provide general paralegal services including:
* Arranging title searches; company searches
* Reporting and tracking lease negotiations, maintaining spreadsheets and databases
* Legal document management and file management
* General administration
* Comply with Health & Safety Policies and Procedures
* Work in a safe manner at all times
* Report all hazards and team member/customer injuries in a timely manner
About you:
* Holds qualifications in Law or Paralegal studies, Property or similar
* Experience working as a Legal Secretary / Paralegal is highly regarded
* Exposure to commercial and / or retail leasing
* A good working knowledge of leasing and related agreements
* Ability to manage lease negotiation ensuring all documentation is completed correctly and meets the business' legal requirements and key stake holders are informed
* Strong attention to detail and ability to take initiative
* Good communication skills
