At Carbon Sync, we are building a high-integrity, scientifically rigorous approach to soil carbon that sets a new standard for the industry. As Director of Science & Delivery, you will shape the methodologies, systems and teams that drive measurable environmental outcomes across WA.

What you'll do
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you'll be responsible for elevating Carbon Sync's scientific methodology and ensuring our projects are delivered with consistency, quality, and operational discipline.
You will:
* Lead the evolution and refinement of Carbon Sync's scientific frameworks, R&D priorities and technical methodologies.
* Oversee end-to-end technical delivery across all carbon projects, ensuring accurate, rigorous and on-time outputs.
* Build and manage a high-performing team of field technicians and data analysts.
* Develop scalable systems, documentation and workflows that reduce dependencies and support organisational growth.
* Provide scientific oversight across agronomic practice, geospatial analysis, soil sampling design, modelling and data interpretation.
* Collaborate with researchers, auditors and industry partners to maintain alignment with evolving standards.
* Communicate complex scientific concepts with clarity to clients, internal teams and external stakeholders.
* Support strategic planning, resourcing and capability development across the organisation.
This role is based at our Mosman Park office with regular travel into the Wheatbelt.
Who we're looking for
Years of experience are important - but how you show up matters just as much.
We're looking for a leader who is scientifically strong and operationally grounded. Someone who communicates clearly, maintains strong boundaries, and brings a steady, balanced presence to complex work.
Must-Haves:
* Advanced degree in soil science, agricultural science, ecology or a related discipline
* Demonstrated leadership experience in scientific, R&D or technical delivery roles (5+ years)
* Strong capability in developing workflows, methodologies or technical systems
Nice-to-Haves:
* Experience in carbon farming, agricultural consultancy or land management
* Familiarity with geospatial analysis, soil sampling, modelling or audit processes
* Experience leading multidisciplinary technical teams
* Background in scaling delivery systems or building operational frameworks
