A reliable male support worker is required to assist a 17 year old male participant with social support and community access in the afternoons after school from approximately 3.30pm - 7.30pm Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays and from 10am - 1pm on alternate Saturdays. There are also additional shifts available in the area with another client on Monday and Wednesday daytimes.
You must have experience with complex behaviours and with establishing communication strategies with a participant with limited verbal communication. An understanding of how to respond to a participant who attempts to abscond is also essential.
You will also have a reliable car with comprehensive car insurance. As the participant has an Indigenous background, a support worker with an Indigenous background would be highly regarded although not essential.
