Senior / Lead Structural Engineer - Tall Buildings & Industrial Projects

A leading South Australian engineering firm, delivering complex structural and civil projects across high-rise, industrial, and commercial sectors.
The Role
This is a client-facing leadership role for an experienced structural engineer with proven expertise in tall building and industrial projects. You'll oversee design delivery, mentor junior staff, and be the key point of contact for clients, consultants, and contractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead structural analysis, design, and delivery of high-rise and industrial projects
- Act as the primary client liaison, managing relationships and project expectations
- Prepare and review design documentation, reports, and specifications
- Provide mentoring and technical guidance to junior engineers and drafters
- Conduct design reviews and site inspections to ensure compliance with standards and codes
- Resolve construction queries and deliver practical, buildable solutions
- Champion innovative and sustainable design approaches
About You
- Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (Chartered or working towards CPEng preferred)
- 8+ years' experience in structural design, including tall buildings and industrial projects
- Solid working knowledge of Australian Standards and NCC
- Skilled in AutoCAD, STAAD Pro, and finite element software (e.g., SAFE)
- Confident in drafting, reviewing, and delivering complex design solutions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client-facing engagement
- Proven leadership skills with ability to manage and mentor a team
