Curriculum
Bayside P-12 College offers a well-rounded and inclusive curriculum, grounded in the Victorian Teaching and Learning Model. Students in the early and middle years follow a broad curriculum across eight learning areas, while senior students have access to a range of VCE, VM, and VET units.

The Learning Specialist at Bayside P-12 College is an outstanding teacher and a member of the leadership and management teams within the curriculum or program. This professional is forward looking and visionary in leading and managing the details of this position by demonstrating and modelling outstanding skills, knowledge and performance. The Learning Specialist is responsible to the College¿s Strategic Plan. This professional leads with a high degree of autonomy within the culture of the College, its community and the complexities of the multi-Campus P-12 structure.
The Learning Specialist at Bayside P-12 College will work with the principal to actively promote the safety and wellbeing of all students, and all school staff. Essential Skills and Qualifications:
* Strong Teaching Experience:
Extensive experience as a classroom teacher, demonstrating a deep understanding of pedagogy and curriculum.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
The Learning Specialist - Instructional Coach supports teachers in improving their practice and student outcomes in line with VTLM and the School Strategic Plan. They work collaboratively with teachers, providing feedback, modelling best practices in teaching and learning through demonstration, mentoring and coaching teachers in improving their skills and facilitating professional development. The goal is to improve the teaching workforce by enhancing teaching effectiveness and ultimately improving student outcomes in the primary years. The key responsibilities include:
* Leadership:
Working with key stakeholders in middle and senior leadership to develop a common strategy within the framework of the college structures.
* Collaborating with Teachers:
Coaching one-on-one or in small groups with teachers to identify areas for improvement in their teaching practice.
* Providing Feedback:
Providing constructive feedback on lesson planning, instructional strategies, classroom management, and assessment techniques.
* Modelling Best Practices:
Demonstrating effective teaching strategies in the classroom and co-teach lessons with teachers.
* Facilitating Professional Development:
Leading PLCs, training sessions, and support other professional learning opportunities for teachers.
* Supporting Curriculum Implementation:
Assist teachers in understanding and implementing curriculum standards and using data to inform instruction.
* Promoting Reflective Practice:
Encourage teachers to reflect on their own practice and identify areas for growth.
* Evaluating Impact on Teaching and Student Outcomes:
Use data to assess the effectiveness of coaching interventions and adjust as needed.

Who May Apply
Teachers currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach and/or have demonstrated experience in the curriculum area(s) specified for the position.

VIT LANTITE
To be eligible for employment, transfer or promotion in the principal or teacher class a person must have provisional or full registration from the Victorian Institute of Teaching. In addition, from 3 August 2020, to be eligible for employment in the principal class or teacher class, a person who graduated from a Victorian Initial Teacher Education program after 1 July 2016, must demonstrate that they have passed the literacy and numeracy test for initial teacher education (LANTITE) requirements. This condition is satisfied where the LANTITE requirement is part of the Victorian Initial Teacher Education program completed by the person.
