Full-time fixed-term for two years at Camperdown Join a high-performing research support environment Base Salary HEO 9, $146,197 - $154,260 17% superannuation About the opportunity As the Research Support Manager, you will play a critical role in operationalising research support functions for the 7 schools in the Faculty of Engineering, ensuring effective resource deployment and alignment with the Faculty’s research strategy. Working under broad direction, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across research development activities, grant application processes and research data management. You will partner closely with academic leaders, professional staff and external stakeholders to strengthen research culture, improve funding outcomes and deliver high-quality research support services across the 7 Schools. Your key responsibilities will be to: oversee the operational delivery of School-based research support functions, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives manage and coordinate grant application and funding processes, including submissions, reporting and funding allocation lead research development activities that enhance research culture and improve grant success streamline and manage research data operations to support reporting, analysis and decision-making manage workflows for research support across designated funding schemes build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to support collaborative and compliant research activities oversee reporting and compliance requirements in line with University policies and systems manage resources and set short-term priorities to ensure efficient service delivery provide leadership, guidance and people management, including performance development and career support undertake other duties appropriate to the classification level as required About you postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of relevant training and experience demonstrated experience managing or coordinating research support or grant application processes within a higher education or research environment proven people management experience, including staff performance and development strong analytical skills with experience managing, reporting and interpreting research data excellent organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities highly developed stakeholder engagement, negotiation and influencing capabilities strong understanding of the research funding landscape and research administration processes advanced capability using data and reporting tools, including Excel, for analysis and decision-making postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
