Grope Hamilton Lawyers is a city-based boutique general services law firm first established in 1983. We offer a positive and supportive work environment, where team members are respected and motivated to succeed.

We are seeking an experienced and well-organised administrative assistant/legal secretary who thrives working independently, but also enjoys being part of a supportive team, to join our busy personal injury practice.

While this role mainly focuses on personal injury and workers compensation claims, it also involves commercial litigation, wills and estates, and some minor criminal work.

Key responsibilities:

Preparing and editing legal correspondence, documents and briefs from written notes or dictation

Filing court documents on the court portal

Answering incoming calls and responding to client queries

Assisting with opening, maintaining and closing files

Diary management, including arranging client medical appointments, client meetings and court dates

Liaising with clients, medical providers and other specialists

Essential skills and experience:

Experience in a legal secretarial or assistant role, preferably within personal injury areas of law

Strong understanding of legal processes and terminology

Excellent typing speed and accuracy

Professional telephone manner and strong communication skills

High level of organisational ability, time management and attention to detail

Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook

Experience with Affinity or other legal practice management software would be an advantage

Remuneration will be commensurate with experience.
