Royal Flying Doctor Service (WA)
Posted: 9 April
Offer description

Every day, the Royal Flying Doctor Service connects people, places and possibilities across some of Australia's most remote regions. Operating across the largest aeromedical jurisdiction in the world, we deliver essential primary healthcare and emergency aeromedical retrieval services where they are needed most.

This is aviation at scale. Challenging, purposeful and deeply rewarding.

PC-12 Line Pilots – August Intake
* Join our August ground school intake, completing initial training in Jandakot before transitioning to line operations in Port Hedland or Kalgoorlie, with base allocation aligned to operational requirements
* Fly a modern, evolving fleet, with next-generation PC-12 PRO aircraft enhancing safety, performance and aeromedical capability
* Earn $140,962 to $163,909 plus superannuation following Check to Line, with a district allowance of up to $18,598 and access to not-for-profit salary packaging
* Access internal progression opportunities across our regional base network, including Perth, Broome and a soon-to-be-established Geraldton base, along with pathways into PC-24 operations and Training and Checking roles, all filled exclusively through internal progression within our PC-12 pilot group
* Receive subsidised housing or an accommodation allowance of up to $750 per week, with an 8% salary contribution

As a PC-12 Line Pilot, you'll fly alongside highly experienced crews, supporting doctors and nurses on critical missions where judgement, precision and calm decision‐making are essential. Operating within a fleet of 22 aircraft, you'll contribute to more than 10,000 retrievals each year across 8.6 million kilometres of flying, with pilots typically flying 500 to 600 hours annually.

Based in Port Hedland or Kalgoorlie, you'll join a close-knit, high‐performing team supported with housing and allowances, while building advanced single‐pilot capability in a challenging operational environment.

Many pilots commence their RFDS journey in Port Hedland or Kalgoorlie, which are our primary entry points, before progressing internally across our regional base network or into PC‐24 jet operations, including opportunities in Geraldton, Broome and Perth/Jandakot. Others choose to remain in regional bases long term, becoming part of the local community. All such roles are filled exclusively from within our PC‐12 pilot group, with further progression opportunities into Senior Base Pilot and Training and Checking roles.

Whether you're building a long‐term career in aeromedical aviation or looking to progress your aviation career, RFDS WA provides a strong and respected foundation.

In an industry subject to market cycles, RFDS WA offers one of the most stable and secure flying environments in Australia, underpinned by essential healthcare services.
