Application Engineer – Downer Professional Services

Join our Downer Professional Services team and play a key role in delivering complex defence and national security projects that safeguard Australia's future.
We currently have an opportunity for an Application Engineer in Canberra to work within the Land Network Integration Centre.
Key Responsibilities
Install, configure, and integrate C4ISR applications to support the Land Combat System Network Needs and follow-on Army initiatives in support of capability decisions.
Develop and innovate platform support for C4ISR applications and associated data interfaces.
Develop and deliver training package material to describe the implementation of technologies and applications on Army Mission Command systems.
Develop system integration design documentation, and maintain configuration control of the C4ISR hosting environment, as well as their implementation onto Test, Development, and Production Mission System environments.
Review, advise, and contribute to the design of application integrated solutions for Land Network systems as part of the Land Combat Systems.
Key Requirements
Prior experience in virtualisation technologies such as KVM and vSphere.
Experience with networking and routing technologies such as OSPF, BGP, Cisco IOS, and iBTN.
Extensive practical experience in the specific deployment and administration of military C4ISR networks, applications, or systems.
Experience with network integration at the tactical and operational levels within the ADF.
Due to the nature of the work, you are required to currently hold and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting 1 Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth.
In some instances, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements may also be an inherent requirement.
