Overview
Cyber Security Officer (Operations) at Curtin University. This is a full-time, continuing (permanent) position based at the Bentley Campus.
Key Responsibilities
* Monitor security systems, identify threats, and respond to alerts.
* Assist in incident response processes, including analysis, containment, and remediation.
* Support vulnerability assessments and recommend mitigation strategies.
* Operate and maintain IT security controls.
* Investigate and report on suspected policy breaches.
* Contribute to the development of incident response processes, SOPs, and playbooks.
* Collaborate with stakeholders across the University and external partners.
Selection Criteria
We know great candidates may not tick every box. If you have many of the skills listed below and a passion for cyber security, we'd love to hear from you.
* A relevant tertiary qualification with experience, or an equivalent combination of education and training.
* Foundational cyber security certifications (e.g. Security+, CySA+) or equivalent.
* Demonstrated skills with relevant tools and technologies, and an understanding of cyber security standards and incident management.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and organisational skills.
* A collaborative approach and commitment to staying up to date with cyber security developments.
Desirable
* Experience designing, deploying, and managing ICT security systems.
* Advanced certifications (e.g. CISSP, ECIH, GCIH, CCSP) or equivalent.
* Membership of professional information security associations.
Role Requirements
* Current Permanent Australian working rights. Visa sponsorship and relocation will not be supported.
* Willing to undertake a National Police Clearance, and background, integrity, and reference checks to Curtin's satisfaction.
