Job Description
The role of Payroll Accountant is a vital position within our organization, responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll transactions. This individual will be accountable for preparing and posting payroll-related transactions into the ledger, including pay runs, accruals, and provisions.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare and post payroll-related transactions into the ledger, including pay runs, accruals, and provisions.
* Prepare and post subcontractor oncost transactions, and employee related costs to jobs based on timesheet information.
* Review results to identify and correct mispostings.
* Prepare all payroll-related balance sheet reconciliations including payment clearing accounts, leave provisions, and on-cost pre-payments/accruals.
* Investigate and correct unknown balances appearing in the balance sheet.
* Identify and highlight risks and issues that appear on the balance sheet.
* Prepare payroll-related reports for internal stakeholders and respond to any queries from the BU finance teams.
* Assist the finance team with period-end close activity.
* Identify process improvement opportunities and support their delivery.
* Prepare and maintain process or policy documentation.
* Support with payroll or oncost audits of payroll data from the tax office or PWC.
About You:
Our ideal candidate will be a strong communicator with the ability to work across multiple internal stakeholder groups.
Requirements:
* CPA/CA qualification is highly desirable.
* Minimum of two years relevant finance experience.
* Exposure to payroll processes and related tasks is highly desirable.
* High proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
