We are seeking safety professionals to join our team at Melbourne Airport. The role of Ramp Safety Officer is a crucial part in ensuring the airfield operates safely and efficiently.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of work health and safety principles, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
About the Role
* This is an opportunity to contribute to a new function within our Airside Safety team that supports safer operations, stronger engagement with ground handling partners, and a more proactive approach to managing risk on the apron.
Key Responsibilities
1. Safety Checks: Conduct regular safety inspections and checks across the airfield to identify potential hazards and risks.
2. Rapid Response: Respond quickly to safety issues or reports from airfield users, providing support and guidance as needed.
3. Culture and Engagement: Build relationships with ground handlers and other airfield users, promoting a positive safety culture and encouraging safe practices.
4. Operational Support: Work collaboratively with other teams to ensure smooth airport operations, including daily planning and fault reporting.
Requirements
* Understanding of airfield operations advantageous but not essential.
* Strong WHS knowledge and experience.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Able to analyse information and prioritise work using risk models.
* Technical writing and record-keeping capability.
* Organised, structured approach to work, with ability to meet deadlines.
