Our Palmerston store is hiring an Assistant Store Manager on a full‑time basis. This is an opportunity to enhance your leadership skills, overseeing a retail team with unique buzz and energy at Telstra within a dynamic team environment.

As an Assistant Retail Store Manager at Telstra, you’ll work closely with the Store Manager to coach and grow your team. You’ll use your management experience to help coach our retail consultants to success, making sure they’re driven and energised to reach and exceed store targets.
What you’ll do
* Oversee induction of new team members
* Coach the store’s team to meet (and exceed) store targets
* Help support your team with customer query escalations
* Act as the Store Manager’s right‑hand person, stepping up to act as Store Manager when needed
* Execute business initiatives in store to meet financial and customer key metrics
* Act as team cheerleader – leading from the front and helping to motivate the team, fostering an awesome store culture
* Organise the store floor and the team’s work schedules to meet customer demand
About you
* Previous experience in a retail leadership or assistant management role
* Ability to energise and drive a retail team to exceed sales targets and KPIs with demonstrated success
* Leadership from the front, influence and build rapport with a diverse team
* Resolve customer issues quickly and creatively
* Excellent communication, supporting the Store Manager in leading team members through change
