Job Summary
Reporting to the Head of Group Planning and Analysis, the Senior Finance Executive is responsible for strategic financial oversight, advanced planning, reporting, and driving business performance across Squadron Energy. This senior leadership role demands a high level of influence across the organization, guiding financial strategy, mentoring finance teams, and ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
The role also involves shaping financial policy, leading cross-functional initiatives, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
This role may involve travel to other office locations and sites to engage and liaise with broader Squadron Energy teams and relevant stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Represent Finance in executive-level decision-making forums and strategic planning sessions.
2. Provide commercial insight and strategic support to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in relation to financial targets, efficiency, and delivery of key business priorities.
3. Drive enterprise-wide financial initiatives and transformation projects.
4. Mentor and develop finance managers and analysts, fostering leadership and technical growth.
5. Lead strategic financial planning and performance management across multiple business units.
6. Challenge the business and provide advice to drive optimal business outcomes.
* Use knowledge of global and local markets and the competitive landscape to influence strategic business decisions.
Requirements and Qualifications
Experience and knowledge:
7. Expertise in financial modelling, forecasting, and strategic analysis.
8. Experience leading large-scale financial transformation initiatives.
9. Extensive experience working with other areas of the business through projects.
10. Expertise in owning, developing, and executing a Business Unit level strategy.
11. Proven track record of influencing executive leadership and shaping financial strategy.
* 10+ years of progressive experience in financial leadership roles.
Skills and Abilities
Advanced stakeholder management and strategic communication skills.
Exceptional leadership and mentoring capabilities.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated experience of working collaboratively and influencing across multiple stakeholder groups.
Qualifications and Certifications
Graduate degree in a relevant discipline and post graduate qualification (e.g. CPA/CA).
