Senior Land Advisor
You will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining land and tenement assets. This includes tracking obligations in regard to tenements, land, and agreements for compliance.
The Opportunity
* Deliver specialist land and tenure advice to the business as required.
* Manage and maintain land & tenement databases and systems to ensure compliance with legislation and statutory obligations.
* Lodge rent, rates, and other Departmental fee payments by the required dates.
* Prepare and lodge various statutory forms and reports for lodgement with government agencies including preparation and coordination of accompanying documentation.
* Manage statutory form preparation and lodgement, reports, and submissions by Land Officer.
* Manage ad-hoc tenement compliance matters.
* Manage wardens court proceedings and access agreement negotiations.
* Support and advise on land and tenement risks through effective internal and external stakeholder engagement including Surface Disturbance Permits (SDPs).
* Interpret and apply mine legislation related to land and tenement management.
* Coordinate stakeholders to provide input to fulfill compliance obligations, including geological material.
* Liaise with tenement consultants as required.
* Track expenditure across tenements and combined reporting groups as required.
* Manage term extension procedure to retain key tenements.
* Manage new application process for both land and tenements, including pegging requirements.
You will work closely with the land team to achieve these goals and contribute to success.
Requirements
* Tertiary qualification in geosciences, law, planning, environment commerce or equivalent desirable.
* Strong demonstrated experience in land management, legal support, or a related field within the mining resources or infrastructure sectors.
* Strong knowledge of Australian mining legislation, regulations, legal compliance requirements, and risk management principles.
* Knowledge of the Land Administration Act.
* Able to support multiple projects and adapt priorities to align with objectives.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders.
* Strong project management skills, including multiple project management simultaneously.
* Proficient in GIS software.
