The Opportunity

The Tax Advisory Manager will play a key role in providing tax advice to a broad range of clients. We are open to either a 4-day part-time or full-time candidate. You will be responsible for a variety of tax consulting matters across the business, including income tax, GST, and FBT.

As part of our tax advisory team, you will work alongside our two highly experienced Tax Directors. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the growth of our tax service offerings while gaining broad exposure to complex tax issues.

This role is well suited to an experienced tax professional who enjoys working across a range of tax areas and brings strong commercial acumen, attention to detail, analytical thinking, and initiative.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide trusted tax advisory support to clients and to the broader firm.
* Undertake technical tax research to support tax positions and decision making.
* Preparation/review of letters of advice on tax technical matters.
* Assist with ATO rulings, reviews, and audits.
* Undertake tax due diligences for the growing M&A division.
* Complete Tax Governance Frameworks for clients.
* Assist with internal tax training for the broader firm.
* Act as a proactive problem solver and trusted adviser.

About You

You are an experienced tax professional with strong technical expertise and a proactive, solutions-focused approach. You enjoy working collaboratively while also having the ability to operate independently, managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced professional environment. You take pride in delivering high-quality work, building trusted relationships with clients and colleagues, and supporting the development of junior team members.

Essential Skills and Experience

* Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance and/or Bachelor of Law.
* Post-Grad qualifications beneficial but not essential - CA/CPA, Practical Legal Training, Masters of Tax and/or CTA.
* 5+ years' tax experience.
* Strong background in private tax, including income tax and GST.
* Experience in areas such as Capital Gains Tax (including Small Business CGT Concessions); Restructuring; Division 7A; company taxation and taxation of trusts. Further favourable experience includes areas such as cross-border taxation, tax due diligences, and tax governance frameworks.
* Experience in using tax research tools such as CCH, ATO Legal Database.
* Strong research, analytical, organisational and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently, manage deadlines and build strong relationships across the business.
* Strong mentoring and training capabilities to assist junior staff.
* Strong attention to detail combined with a commercial, problem-solving mindset.
