Our client is a large and progressive lamb and cattle finishing enterprise with multiple farming operations across the Central West of NSW.
Due to their rapid growth across the region, they are now seeking a full-time, experienced Farmhand based at the Forbes farming operations.
As a farmhand, you are responsible for assisting with a range of general farming activities across the property. The role requires practical experience in tractor and feedcart operation, strong attention to detail, and a hands-on approach to animal welfare and property maintenance.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Feed Preparation and Delivery
* Operate tractors, loaders, and feed-mix wagons to prepare and deliver accurate daily rations.
* Follow feeding programs and mix orders to ensure ration consistency and animal performance.
* Check and record feed quantities, bunk levels, and livestock intake.
* Deliver feed safely and efficiently to all pens or paddocks as scheduled.
* Monitor animals during feeding for signs of health or welfare concerns.
General Farming Duties
* Assist with fencing repairs, gate maintenance, and general farm infrastructure upkeep.
* Operate equipment for slashing, grading laneways, cleaning troughs, or manure spreading.
* Help with water system checks and repairs (tanks, troughs, pumps, and lines).
* Support livestock operations, including mustering, drafting, yard work, and animal handling when required.
* Assist with pasture management and irrigation tasks (e.g. moving sprinklers, weed control).
* Participate in general farm cleaning, tidiness, and safety activities.
Animal Welfare and Biosecurity
* Handle livestock calmly and in accordance with low-stress stock handling principles.
* Report any animal health concerns immediately.
* Adhere to all farm biosecurity, hygiene, and safety protocols.
Record Keeping and Communication
* Record feed mixes, deliveries, fuel usage, and maintenance tasks.
* Communicate with managers and team members about ration changes, maintenance issues, or livestock observations.
* Participate in daily team briefings and contribute to a positive and safe work environment.

* Sound mechanical aptitude and willingness to maintain equipment.

* Current driver's licence (MR or HR licence desirable).
* Machinery operation experience is essential.
