Bawinanga Aboriginal Corporation is seeking a full-time Manager – Community Engagement and Safety, based in Maningrida, NT.
Reporting to the Senior Manager – Jobs, Education and Community Services, this role is responsible for the overall management and operational oversight of BHAC’s Community Engagement and Safety portfolio, with an initial focus on the Education Engagement and Attainment Initiative (EEAI) and Community Night Patrol (CNP).
This is a key leadership role focused on strengthening supervision, service coordination, reporting, compliance, workforce systems, risk management and day-to-day operational planning across two highly visible community-based services.
More specifically, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
* Leading the operational oversight of EEAI and CNP within a clear and accountable management framework
* Monitoring day-to-day service performance, staffing coverage and emerging operational issues
* Supporting service continuity and practical problem-solving across both program areas
* Providing direct supervision to the EEAI Coordinator and relevant CNP senior staff
* Supporting recruitment, onboarding, leave management, performance support and workforce planning
* Strengthening Indigenous frontline leadership and promoting clear role expectations
* Overseeing reporting, records, incidents, budgets and administrative systems across the portfolio
* Monitoring expenditure, resourcing needs, vehicles, equipment and other operational requirements
* Supporting compliance, audit readiness and alignment with funding and organisational requirements
* Maintaining constructive relationships with internal teams, community stakeholders and external partners
* Supporting service improvement, operational refinement and better alignment across EEAI and CNP
* Providing practical updates and advice to BHAC management on issues, priorities and progress
Is this you?
To be considered, you will ideally bring demonstrated experience in program management, service coordination or operational leadership, along with experience supervising staff and managing service delivery in a complex environment.

The following experience and capabilities will be highly regarded:
* Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills
* Experience in reporting, compliance, administration and budget monitoring
* Ability to work respectfully and effectively in an Aboriginal community-controlled environment
* Understanding of culturally responsive service delivery and the importance of Indigenous leadership
* Ability to manage competing priorities and respond calmly to operational challenges
* Experience working in a remote Aboriginal community
* Experience in youth engagement, community safety, patrol, education engagement or related services
* Knowledge of funding and reporting requirements relevant to Aboriginal community-controlled organisations
* Experience supporting Indigenous workforce development and frontline leadership
