Cyber Security Consultant

This contract role focuses on leading and advising across major cyber security and technology initiatives. You will work closely with senior stakeholders across technology and cyber functions, providing oversight, guidance, and clear reporting into cyber advisory streams.
The role is responsible for identifying and assessing cyber and information security risks, recommending practical mitigation strategies, and ensuring solutions are delivered securely and in line with business expectations. You will also contribute strategic input to resolve complex issues and support technology teams in achieving secure, business-aligned outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide leadership and advisory support to deliver a strong cyber and information security capability across the organisation, ensuring appropriate engagement and effective risk management.
* Build trusted, collaborative relationships with stakeholders to identify root causes of security issues and develop practical, sustainable solutions.
* Proactively identify security gaps and vulnerabilities, taking ownership to see remediation actions through to completion.
* Drive early and ongoing cyber engagement across technology initiatives to ensure risks are identified, escalated, and communicated to the right stakeholders.
* Operate with a high level of integrity and transparency when assessing threats, risks, and mitigation options.
* Champion innovative, pragmatic security solutions while supporting agile and outcome-focused delivery.
* Balance day-to-day delivery with longer-term risk management by identifying emerging and systemic risks across processes and controls.
* Clearly articulate the cyber risk landscape to senior leaders, including impacts to customers and stakeholders, and support informed prioritisation of remediation efforts in partnership with relevant risk teams.
