The Role:
As a Leading Hand Diesel Fitter, you will oversee and participate in the maintenance and repair of heavy earthmoving equipment in a busy mining workshop environment.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading and supervising maintenance crews
* Component replacement and overhauls
* Fault finding and diagnostics
* Preventative maintenance (PM servicing)
* Breakdown repairs and general maintenance
* Daily servicing, inspections and refuelling
* Ensuring repairs are completed safely, on time and within budget
* Driving a strong, procedure-based safety culture
This role requires flexibility to work rotating day and night shifts.
About You:
To succeed in this position, you will have:
* Trade qualification – Heavy Duty Diesel Fitter or Plant Mechanic
* Post-trade mining experience
* Previous experience in a Leading Hand or supervisory role (highly desirable)
* Experience working on heavy earthmoving equipment
* Current QLD Driver Licence
* Current Standard 11 & Coal Board Medical (or willingness to obtain)
* S1223/G189 supervisor qualification (or willingness to obtain)
* Strong safety focus and leadership capability
