**The Opportunity**:
AnglicareSA has created a true career pathway to enter the growing sector of either Residential Aged Care or Community (Home care) Aged care. You will be employed to get hands-on experience supporting our residents and customers. We will fully fund your Certificate III Individual Support, host your student placement hours, and support you to earn while you learn.

This opportunity would ideally suit someone with customer service, retail, hospitality, or lived experience caring for a family member, but is open to anyone with an interest in aged care.

**What can you expect to be doing?**:
**For those who prefer to work in Residential Aged Care**:
You will begin as a Personal Care Assistant until you are qualified as a Personal Care Worker.

While you are completing your Certificate III, you will provide assistance and support to the care workers and clinical team at our facility, ensuring our residents receive great care. This can include: providing support with transfers, supervised personal care, stock inventory, room tidying, support at meal times, and other basic assistance to meet our residents' needs.

**For those who prefer to work in Community (Home care) Aged Care**:
You will begin as a Home Service Worker until you are qualified as a Care Worker.

As a Home Service Worker, you will visit our customer's homes, supporting them to maintain a clean and safe living environment. This could involve making bathrooms sparkle, taking pesky creases out of laundry, grocery shopping and prepping basic meals.

When you transition to a Personal/Care Worker role upon completion of your Certificate III, your ongoing support to customers will build on this foundation by including personal care activities and other tasks listed on the Care Plan.

**What do you need to bring?**:

- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build great relationships with residents
- A fantastic attitude, flexibility, and genuine interest in helping others
- Commitment to completing a Certificate III Individual Support
- Willingness to obtain a national police clearance (unsupervised contact with vulnerable people)
- Evidence of 3x doses of a COVID-19 vaccination and current flu vaccination; willingness to wear N95 masks and PPE as required
- For Community Aged care, an Australian Driver's Licence (minimum of P1) and a roadworthy car are essential
- Be able to safely lift at least 24kg as an inherent requirement of the role
- Due to the nature of the program, we only accept Australian Citizens or Permanent residents

Important to note, as a Personal Care Assistant in Residential aged care, the shifts we can offer are in the mornings and afternoons Monday to Friday. However, once you become a Personal Care Worker there are also night shifts and weekends available.

As a Home Service Worker in Community Aged care, our shifts are from 9am-5pm, Monday-Friday. Once you become a qualified Care Worker, weekends, early and evening shifts are also available.
