Our client is a leading refrigerated transport company with strong roots within South Australia, dedicated to offering a wide range of solutions in refrigerated transport, automotive air conditioning and auto electrical repairs. Their manufacturing facility delivers end-to-end engineering solutions including 3D CAD design, metal fabrication, assembly, prototype development, and product testing. They are experiencing continued growth and are seeking a qualified Mechanical Engineer to join our production and R&D team on a long-term basis.
Key Responsibilities
The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the design, development and continuous improvement of HVAC systems and mechanical components. Duties include but are not limited to :
* Designing, modelling and drafting mechanical components using SolidWorks, Fusion 360 or equivalent CAD tools.
* Producing manufacturing drawings, specifications, Bills of Materials (BOM) and engineering documentation.
* Conducting load, performance and tolerance calculations to ensure product reliability, efficiency and compliance.
* Evaluating airflow, thermal performance and refrigeration component suitability for sleeper-cab applications.
* Working closely with fabrication and assembly teams to transition designs into production.
* Participating in prototype development, testing and modification for improvement.
* Identifying material requirements, liaising with suppliers and supporting cost-optimisation decisions.
* Maintaining WHS / OHS compliance and ensuring quality control standards during manufacturing and installation.
* Collaborating with technicians, installers and project managers to meet engineering, safety and customer requirements.
Qualifications $ Skills :
* Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
* Minimum 2 years of mechanical engineering experience involving CAD design, manufacturing or HVAC-related systems.
* Proficiency in CAD 3D design programs (SolidWorks / Fusion 360 / Inventor or similar).
* Practical understanding of thermodynamics, airflow, heat exchange and mechanical system performance.
* Experience in fabrication or assembly environments is highly regarded.
* Strong analytical skills, problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
* Effective verbal and written communication skills.
* Commitment to safe working practices and high-quality engineering output.
What We Offer :
* Annual salary : AUD $80,000 – $90,000 + superannuation, depending on experience and capability.
