The Team

The CAMHS team at the Department of Health Tasmania is a multidisciplinary group dedicated to supporting children and adolescents with mental health needs. They provide evidence‑based, recovery‑oriented care through psychological assessments, tailored interventions, and case management, working collaboratively with families and communities to promote early intervention and continuity of care.


The Role

Be part of a multi‑disciplinary team delivering high quality mental health services in accordance with Mental Health service principles, National Safety and Quality Health Service standards, agency policy, legal requirements and relevant professional competencies.


Responsibilities

* Manage and supervise Psychologists employed in the regional CAMHS, providing expert guidance on psychology treatment, case management and coordinating peer review programmes.
* Provide comprehensive evidence‑based clinical assessment, treatment and assertive case‑management services, including development and implementation of specialist treatment programmes, group programmes, community education and the provision of formal psychology reports as required.
* Assist the Team Leader/NUM‑CAMHS and the Allied Health Director – CAMHS with the implementation of the model of professional supervision for Psychologists, coordinate peer supervision programmes, students and less experienced staff as required.


Qualifications

* Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Psychology Board of Australia.
* Registered with the Psychology Board of Australia.
* Holds endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist.
* Current Working with Children Registration.
* Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role remain current and valid at all times.


Desirable Criteria

* Relevant postgraduate qualifications in staff supervision, leadership or management.
* Registration as a supervisor with the Psychology Board of Australia.


Appointment Details

Fixed‑term full‑time day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 30 June 2026. Hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.


Salary

$123,717 to $134,336 per annum. Employer contributes 12 % superannuation on top of this amount. Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022.


Salary Packaging

Access a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other eligible benefits.


Allowances

* Access to salaries beyond $130,900 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme.
* Professional Development Allowance up to $1,000 per annum.
