Our client is looking for a Laboratory Manager to manage their regional laboratory based in Wangaratta.
**About the Role**
This role is based in Wangaratta and services local medical centers as well as a regional hospital. Your duties and responsibilities include:
- Supervise a small team of 4 laboratory scientists in a multi-disciplinary setting (Biochemistry, Haematology, Stat micro, PCR.
- **This role is managerial and you will NOT generally be required to perform laboratory work as part of your duties.**:
- **Working hours will be Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm.**:
- Prioritise work
- flow to meet client's requirements
- Ensure results are released with acceptable turn around times (TAT)
- Liaise with senior staff and Pathologists regarding unusual and abnormal results
- Ensure all laboratory equipment is maintained in optimal condition and working order, all scheduled routine maintenance is performed and any unscheduled maintenance is performed as required
- Review and update all Laboratory documentation as required
**About You**
To be considered for this role your skills and attributes should include:
- Tertiary Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent
- Experience in a multi-disciplinary environment
- Strong interpersonal skills to build meaningful partnerships
- Experience in working under tight deadlines to meet day to day targets, with the capacity to manage multiple tasks within set timeline
- Results orientated and a proactive and effective problem solver
- Proven skills in defining, prioritising and organising competing tasks to meet deadlines
- Ability to demonstrate the highest levels of confidentiality and integrity at all times
- Must hold full working rights in Australia
