Job Description

Join Deaf Connect and use your eye for detail and love of numbers to make a real difference.

Deaf Connect is looking for a Finance Officer to join our Plan Management team. If you enjoy working with numbers, like helping people, and have a strong eye for detail, this could be the role for you.

In this role, you'll help make sure NDIS funding is managed accurately so Deaf and hard of hearing Australians can access the supports they need with confidence. You'll support clients, service providers, and our internal teams by keeping payments and financial records organised and up to date.

We're offering a permanent, part-time role (30 hours per week). The role is based in our stunning South Bank office, where you can enjoy our hybrid model — core office days (Tuesday–Thursday) with the option to work from home on Mondays and Fridays. Enjoy your afternoons with hours that span Monday to Friday, commencing at 7.30am.

About the role:

Working with the Plan Management Team Lead and Finance team, you will help manage day-to-day financial tasks and support smooth payment processes.

Your responsibilities will include:

* Processing NDIS claims and payments
* Maintaining client records and service agreements
* Responding to enquiries from clients and service providers
* Supporting accounts payable and receivable tasks
* Processing invoices and assisting with reconciliations
* Helping improve processes and supporting a positive team environment

About you:

In your application, let us know if you have these key skills and experience:

* Experience using PlanAbility or similar NDIS plan management software (or willingness to learn)
* Clear communication skills and a customer‐focused approach
* Strong attention to detail and ability to manage tasks
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Professional approach to handling confidential information
* Understanding of the NDIS or community/not‐for‐profit sector (desirable)

Please also let us know if you have the following nice to haves:

* Auslan skills or willingness to learn
* Experience with accounts payable/receivable, payroll, or systems such as D365 and ELMO/PayMetrics
