About the Role:

In your role as the Centre of Excellence Works Coordinator based at Pioneer Mill, you will play a key leadership role in driving safety, productivity and quality across the Burdekin region. You will coordinate and supervise maintenance and capital works while leading a team of both tradespeople and non-trades employees to deliver safe, efficient and high-quality outcomes.

Working closely with the Engineering team, you will help plan and deliver maintenance strategies, manage resources and contractors, and ensure work is completed on time, within budget and to the required standards. Strong communication and leadership skills are essential as you build positive working relationships, support your team and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement across the mill.

Role Responsibilities:

* Lead a high-performing engineering team, overseeing maintenance and project activities to ensure safe, efficient, and successful delivery of work
* Play a key role in driving reliability, operational performance, and continuous improvement initiatives that make a real impact
* Build strong relationships across the business, influencing positive culture, collaboration, and team engagement in a hands-on leadership role
* Contribute to strategic maintenance planning, capital projects, and operational improvements that support the long-term success for Loco’s and Crossing Lights.
* Take ownership of budgets, resource planning, and performance outcomes, with the opportunity to influence meaningful business decisions

About you:
We are looking for someone who brings:

Essential

* Trade qualification in a relevant discipline, or equivalent hands-on practical experience
* Minimum 3 years’ maintenance and reliability experience within a heavy industrial environment
* Demonstrated experience managing reliability systems, maintenance processes, and asset performance initiatives
* Strong technical capability, with the ability to troubleshoot, problem-solve, and provide expert operational support
* Proficiency in SAP, with experience using maintenance management systems to plan, track, and deliver work

Desirable

* Previous experience within the sugar industry or a similar continuous manufacturing environment
* Proficiency in MS Project or similar project planning tools
* Sound knowledge of Workplace Health & Safety legislation, regulations, and codes of practice
* Understanding of the Sugar Industry Act (SIA) and Sugar Industry Code of Practice
* Experience contributing to continuous improvement, shutdown planning, or capital project delivery in an industrial setting
