Restaurant Manager

Kangaroo Rugby League Club is a full-service restaurant inside Kangaroo Rugby League Club. We have no gaming machines or TAB we are a 100 seat restaurant serving local Cairns residents from Tuesday to Saturday.

The position purpose of the Manager is to oversee the overall operations and management of the food and beverage operations. The Manager is responsible for ensuring that the restaurant operates efficiently, provides high-quality products and services, and meets the expectations of customers.

Operational Duties:

· Monitor day-to-day operations including table service, bar operations, kitchen efficiency, and cleanliness.

· Maintain and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

· Monitor financial performance, Analyse variances, and track revenue, expenses, and profitability. While reporting to directors.

· Ensure the premises is managed in accordance with Liquor licensing laws

· Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels, including food, beverages, and supplies. Maintain accurate records, monitor stock levels, and establish relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and cost-effective purchasing

· Ensure administration duties are kept up to date in conjunction with support from team

· Menu development in collaboration with Head Chef and align with restaurant concept to optimize profitability

· Perform related service duties as required throughout service periods

· Complete Manager daily administration duties

Human Resources

· Roster employees in a cost-effective and efficient manner

· Have a good working knowledge of the relevant Awards and how that impacts operations (e.g. rostering, overtime etc)

· Team member Recruitment and Training: Recruit, hire, and train food and beverage team member, including servers, bartenders, and kitchen personnel. Provide ongoing training to ensure team member members deliver exceptional customer service and adhere to quality standards.

· Coordinate and participate in employee probation and performance reviews

Customer Service

· Ensure high-quality customer service is consistently provided throughout the establishment. Address customer complaints or concerns promptly and implement measures to enhance guest satisfaction

· Building and maintaining positive relationships with all directors

· Responsible for ensuring employees deliver a high standard of customer service

· Responsible for ensuring that team member liaise in a positive manner with all internal customers

· Whilst the Restaurant is open, ensure customer service is a priority over any other responsibilities at all times.
