We are seeking a passionate and experienced Counsellor to join our dedicated team and deliver professional, evidence-based therapeutic interventions that foster safety, emotional wellbeing, and empowerment. This is more than a counselling role, it's an opportunity to help break the cycle of violence and create lasting change for adults and children in our community.
In this role, you will provide trauma-informed counselling and support to those experiencing or recovering from family violence, helping clients rebuild their lives with dignity and resilience. You will work closely with individuals and families to enhance coping strategies, strengthen self-esteem, and develop non-violent life skills. Using your clinical expertise, you will conduct comprehensive assessments, apply family violence models and theories, and utilise MARAM risk assessment tools to ensure safety and wellbeing.
Collaboration is key. You will build strong networks with local family violence services and community organisations to deliver holistic, client-focused care. Your ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and adapt to diverse cultural needs will be essential in this role.
If you are committed to providing compassionate, high-quality support and want to contribute to a safer, healthier future for individuals and families, we invite you to join us. This is your chance to be part of a team that values integrity, respect, and innovation in service delivery.
Our preferred candidate will have:
* Degree in Social Work, eligibility for membership to Australian Association of Social Work
* Experience in casework, family, individual and children's counselling
The following experience/qualifications would be considered advantageous:
* Previous experience working in the family violence area.
* Post Graduate or short course qualifications in Family Violence Counselling or related area.
* Comprehensive understanding of the MARAM Framework.
IMPORTANT:Some roles in the healthcare sector are required to be vaccinated annually for Influenza (unless a valid exemption applies). Evidence of vaccination (or exemption) will be required to be provided prior to commencement.
