Operations Manager in a Creative, Fast-Paced Team


Next Creative is a Hobart-based media company specialising in high-quality marketing content for real estate agencies, small businesses, and local brands.

We're known for producing polished photography, cinematic video, and standout marketing campaigns that help our clients make an impact. Our team is small but mighty - built on creativity, consistency, and a genuine love for what we do.

As our workload continues to grow, we're looking for an Operations Manager to become the backbone of our daily workflow - someone who keeps everything running smoothly, clients happy, and our creative team free to focus on what they do best.


About the Role


This role is all about organisation, communication, and efficiency.

You'll oversee the daily operations of the business - from client enquiries and scheduling shoots, to supporting our photographers and editors, to keeping jobs moving through production and delivery.

You don't need to be a creative yourself (though that's a bonus) - but you do need to be the kind of person who thrives on systems, details, and people management.

We're flexible with hours - this could suit someone returning to the workforce, a parent looking for school-hours flexibility, or anyone with strong coordination experience looking to join a down-to-earth creative team.


Key Responsibilities


Client & Scheduling

* Be the first point of contact for clients - answering calls, emails, and booking requests
* Oversee the daily shoot schedule and ensure all bookings run smoothly
* Manage reschedules, cancellations or reshoots with clients
* Liaise with clients post-shoot to ensure satisfaction and handle any feedback or revisions

Team Coordination

* Assign daily tasks to photographers, editors, and contractors
* Track delivery deadlines and ensure jobs move smoothly from shoot to edit to delivery
* Communicate clearly with the team about priorities and workload

Business Operations

* Oversee quality control of all completed materials (photos, videos, floorplans) to ensure they meet Next Creative's high standards before delivery to clients
* Action revision requests from clients throughout the day
* Maintain our project management system (Tonomo)
* Identify and streamline bottlenecks in our workflow
* Basic marketing admin (managing our socials, scheduling posts, sending quarterly newsletters)

* Communicate clearly and confidently with both clients and creatives
* Can stay calm under pressure (especially on busy days)
* Enjoy improving systems and making processes more efficient
* Are tech-savvy with tools like Google Workspace, Buffer and Adobe Photoshop
* Appreciate great creative work and want to be part of a small, passionate team
* Previous experience in real estate or real estate marketing is a bonus, so you understand how agents operate and what they expect
