Our dedicated Y Ballarat Youth Team is committed to supporting and empowering our young people in Ballarat and surrounding communities. As our Payroll Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in delivering an accurate, compliant and people-focused payroll service across our organisation.
What you’ll do:
* Deliver end-to-end fortnightly payroll processing for a large, diverse workforce, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
* Coordinate complex payroll activities including backpay, terminations, superannuation, PAYG, leave and reconciliations
* Supervise, coach and develop two payroll team members, building capability and confidence
* Interpret and apply multiple awards and enterprise agreements, ensuring legislative compliance
* Prepare regular and ad-hoc payroll reports, including superannuation analysis, overtime reporting and overpayment tracking
* Manage Portable Long Service Leave (PLSA) reporting and back-claiming processes
* Maintain payroll documentation, procedures and user guides
* Provide training and system support, including Kronos, and contribute to payroll system improvements
* Partner closely with People & Culture, Finance and operational leaders to resolve queries and improve payroll outcomes.
What you’ll bring:
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in payroll within a medium to large organisation
* Demonstrated experience delivering end-to-end payroll with high attention to detail
* Strong knowledge of awards and enterprise agreements and the ability to interpret them confidently
* Proven leadership or supervisory experience, with a collaborative and coaching-focused approach
* Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capability
* Experience using payroll systems (Kronos highly regarded)
* Relevant qualification (Certificate IV in Payroll Administration or Diploma preferred)
* Current Working with Children Check and National Police Check, or willingness to obtain
