As the Sovereign Submarine Sustainment Partner, ASC will play an incredibly important role to meet the requirements of the first phase of the SSN Optimal Pathway. As such, we have been provided with an initial opportunity for our workforce to support a series of international deployments to the United States (US). We have immediate opportunities for skilled leaders to support ASC employees undertaking world-leading training in Pearl Harbor (Hawaii). The duration of this deployment will be between 18-24 months.
The Training Support Manager will contribute to ensuring ASC’s preparedness and capability to support the SFR-W Program aligning activities with ASC’s Strategy and assisting ASC to meet any relevant contractual deliverables. This role is required to maintain an operational and strategic perspective of the entire business and consider a wide range of longer-term issues, opportunities and risks to ensure ongoing business success.
Responsibilities
As a Training Support Manager, you will:
* Drive delivery of strategic objectives by setting clear, actionable goals and ensuring alignment with program priorities
* Maintain industry-leading standards through best practices and strong cross-team collaboration
* Build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships, while proactively identifying and mitigating risks
* Support the development and implementation of governance frameworks to enable informed decision-making, accountability, and transparency
* Promote consistent processes, continuous improvement, and effective risk management practices
* Provide guidance on policies and frameworks to ensure they are fit for purpose and well understood
* Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team, fostering accountability and alignment with business goals
* Support employee growth through performance development, coaching, and recognition initiatives
* Create a positive, inclusive culture that values contribution, innovation, and continuous improvement
* Identify and mitigate potential risks to the SSN-Sustainment Program and our personnel
Eligibility Criteria
The successful applicant must possess:
* 5 years’ relevant leadership experience with a strong emphasis on operational delivery within a complex program
* Qualifications in Leadership and Management or related discipline
* Relevant technical qualifications in a related discipline
* An excellent level of technical knowledge, communication, written skills, excellent time management and organisation skills
* Knowledge of safety process management, Australian and ISO standards
* Demonstrated understanding of Australian trade related Codes of Practice and related governance compliance
* Ability to deliver high level strategies and translation to operational plans
* Understanding of project strategy and alignment to organisational goals
* Experience in building credibility and influencing external stakeholders from a cross-cultural background
* Australian Citizenship
* An ability to obtain and maintain a NV1 defence clearance
Additional Details
At the completion of your deployment, you will return to Western Australia (WA) to carry out your role assigned.
Repatriation to WA is non-negotiable, so please consider this when applying.
Whilst ASC will accept all applications for this role, as this role requires an ability to access protected US defence technology, applicants holding nationality of certain foreign countries will not be eligible.
