Bellbird Park State Secondary College is one of Queensland's newest secondary schools. The school opened in January 2017 for year 7 students only and our inaugural year 12 cohort graduated in 2022. About the Role
As Acting Head of Science, you will lead with impact, our Foundations First approach to ensure seamless transitions, engaged classrooms, and students who are calm, ready, and actively shaping their own learning journey.
We are seeking a dynamic and future-focused leader with the energy and vision to drive innovation and growth within the Science Faculty. You will be committed to fostering a solid, student-cantered learning environment and have the ability to build meaningful professional relationships with students, teachers, parents, and the wider community. Your leadership will inspire curiosity, collaboration, and excellence in science education.
Enact the school's vision and values to ensure the further evolution of a high-quality professional learning community developing students as futures-focused, global citizens;
Lead a dynamic and capable Science Faculty to maximise student learning days and advance our commitment to student learning growth;
Enrich the development and scalability of high-quality teaching and learning aligned to responsive and effective pedagogies;
Lead Science Faculty data analysis to systematically deliver aspirational academic learning targets across both junior secondary and senior secondary;
Develop capability of all teachers to deliver high quality and responsive learning experiences and tailored supports for individual students;
Strategically build and sustain productive partnerships with students, parents, external agencies and local community groups to maximise authentic experiences for students;
Manage the human, financial, facilities and curriculum resources associated across the Science Faculty.
Highly desirable skills and experience as an innovative and dynamic leader;
Solid understanding of current educational research

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within teams to delivery curriculum outcomes
Demonstrated ability to triangulate datasets to improve student engagement and commitment to their learning potential.
