Communications Specialist

Key Responsibilities:
* Equipment Installation and Maintenance: Install, test, assemble, commission, and repair voice and data radio communication equipment, computer equipment, telemetry equipment, audio switching equipment, electronic recording of interviews evidence systems, and other electronic devices.
* Network Design and Implementation: Assist with the specification, design, and construction of equipment for interfacing to various communications networks, including the preparation of circuit diagrams and site and facility drawings.
* Documentation and Record-Keeping: Prepare and maintain documentation, including drawings to facilitate asset management and equipment maintenance; initiate and maintain records of work, material usage, equipment histories, and other records required for efficient operation and recording within the unit.
* Project Coordination: Coordinate and implement new installations and modifications of communications networks and electronic equipment, including the coordination and control of sub-contractors as required.
* Maintenance Standards and Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant equipment maintenance standards and apply all appropriate legislative, policy, procedural, and quality requirements.
* Planning and Project Activities: Contribute specialist skills to planning and project activities.
This role requires:
Qualifications and Skills: A trade or engineering certificate in radio, electronics, or telecommunications; a current 'C' class driver's license; experience with analogue/digital radio networks; experience with radio test sets; Open Cabling Registration with Structured/Coaxial Cable and Optical Fibre endorsements.
