The Australian Sustainable Finance Institute (ASFI) has been established to realign Australia's financial system so that more money flows to activities that will create a sustainable, resilient and inclusive Australia.

The Role
As a critical part of ASFI's Operations team, this role is responsible for delivering high quality support to the finance function of the organisation. You will be the first point of contact for the ASFI team needing day to day financial support and will be responsible for ensuring accurate record keeping and compliance with internal policies and external regulations. In addition to financial support, you will support elements of contracts management to ensure financial accuracy for project acquittals.
This position works collaboratively across the organisation, delivering high quality financial support to enable ASFI to achieve its ambitious goals.
Key Responsibilities
With oversight from the Executive Manager Finance and Operations, process accounts payable and receivable, payroll, reconciliations, and journal entries in accordance with established procedures.
Other key tasks include:
* Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
* Support the preparation of accurate monthly and quarterly reports to support internal decision-making and compliance obligations.
* Support contract administration by maintaining financial records related to service agreements, supplier contracts, and funding arrangements.
* Provide administrative support to the finance department as needed.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and filing systems.
* Participate in projects, cross-team collaborations, or additional duties as directed by the Executive Manager Finance and Operations.
About You
You are adept at working in a small environment where people's opinions are valued and listened to. You thrive on open communication, transparency and are energised by a dynamic work environment. You are willing to roll up your sleeves and have a go at things and have a 'can do' attitude. Additionally, you will have:
* A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field.
* 2-5 years of experience in finance, accounting, or financial administrative roles.
* Proficiency in accounting software (MYOB, Xero, SAP, or QuickBooks), advanced Excel skills, and familiarity with financial reporting systems.
* Understanding of basic accounting principles, GST, BAS preparation, accounts payable/receivable, and financial reporting.
