About the Role:
The Clinical Director – Early Psychosis is a senior medical leadership role responsible for governance, clinical oversight, and strategic direction of the headspace Early Psychosis (hEP) program.
Based at headspace Adelaide, this position is ideally suited to an experienced Psychiatrist with a strong commitment to early intervention, youth mental health, and evidence-based models of care.
Working collaboratively with the Manager and Senior Leadership Team, you will guide the implementation of the Early Psychosis Prevention and Intervention Centre (EPPIC) model, ensuring high-quality, recovery-oriented treatment for young people and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide psychiatric leadership and clinical governance across multidisciplinary teams
Deliver clinical supervision, consultation, and expert advice
Embed quality improvement, safety, and risk management frameworks
Contribute to strategic planning, service development, and innovation
Build collaborative partnerships with internal and external stakeholders
Provide direct clinical care and psychiatric assessment as required
Provide expert guidance to Sonder's CEO and Board sub-committees
Experience Requirements:
Specialist experience in psychiatry with expertise in early psychosis and youth mental health
Demonstrated clinical leadership within public and/or private mental health services
Strong knowledge of evidence-based interventions, assessment, and treatment for young people at risk of or experiencing psychosis
Experience leading and supervising multidisciplinary teams
Familiarity with service management, quality improvement, and workforce development
Qualification and Other Requirements:
Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent qualification.
Registration as a medical practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists or equivalent postgraduate specialist qualification.
Current or willing to obtain a Working with Children's Check (WWCC)
Current or willing to obtain a National Police Check (NPC)
