About the role :
We have a 12-month Fixed Term Contract role in our GCIB KYC Team based in Sydney, Australia, or Auckland, New Zealand.
As an Analyst, your role in the GCIB KYC team involves conducting customer identifications and due diligence prior to onboarding new customers, as well as ongoing monitoring of our customers’ money laundering risk profiles in accordance with internal and regulatory requirements.
The GCIB KYC team works closely with the GCIB coverage team and MUFG’s Financial Crime divisions to ensure each customer is onboarded properly, with issues identified and addressed appropriately. Responsibilities include completing the identification process, including sanction screening, negative press assessment, and corruption allegations for all authorized individuals, in accordance with relevant AML/CTF laws. For existing customers, the team monitors money laundering risks regularly and conducts periodic KYC reviews within the scheduled timeframes.
What you’ll be doing :
1. New Customer Onboarding: Perform customer identification and due diligence to assess the money laundering risk profile of new customers before providing banking services.
2. Post Onboarding Monitoring: Continuously monitor existing customers’ money laundering risk and conduct additional reviews if customer profiles change significantly.
3. Quality Control: Review KYC due diligence reports prepared by other team members to ensure accuracy before approval.
What we are looking for :
* At least 1 year of experience in compliance, banking, accounting, legal, consultancy, regulatory, or related sectors.
* Experience in AML/KYC is preferred.
* Understanding of financial markets, economy, and business.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
* Ability to conduct independent research and analysis of customers, regulations, and banking products.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
* Team-oriented with initiative, drive, and enthusiasm.
