About the Organisation
Gladstone Area Water Board (GAWB) is a statutory authority under the Water Act 2000, responsible for supplying bulk water to major consumers in the Gladstone Region. GAWB manages assets including water storage, pump stations, pipelines, storage tanks, and water treatment plants. The organisation is dedicated to protecting water quality and quantity, providing recreational facilities, and supporting fish fingerling production and stocking programs. GAWB values local, hands-on relationships with customers and the community, aiming to deliver safe, reliable water services to enhance regional livability.
About the Role
GAWB seeks a skilled Program Delivery Manager to oversee their Capital Projects Portfolio. This role involves planning, developing, implementing, and executing capital projects in line with GAWB's project management framework. The successful candidate will ensure projects are completed successfully, comply with relevant guidelines and legislation, and provide expert advice to stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. Key responsibilities include:
1. Managing the Capital Projects Portfolio according to the Project Management Framework;
2. Developing and controlling project business plans, schedules, and scopes, ensuring compliance with guidelines and legislation;
3. Promoting continuous improvement and innovation within project works;
4. Providing leadership and fostering strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
5. Managing water infrastructure projects as a Project Manager;
6. Overseeing project contracts and ensuring all reporting standards are met;
7. Using corporate tools to manage schedule and cost performance.
About You
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in project portfolio management and delivering medium to large capital projects within infrastructure, utilities, water, or resources sectors. They should be confident leading project teams and advising stakeholders at various levels.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
* Recognised tertiary qualification in Project Management, Engineering, or related discipline;
* Experience managing medium to large capital projects in utilities or related industries;
* Extensive experience in project portfolio management;
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Office 365, SharePoint;
* Strong report writing, technical writing, and presentation skills;
* Work Safe Qld General Construction Induction White (Blue) Card;
* Current 'C' Class Driver's Licence.
