The Bureau has been engaged by the Queensland Reconstruction Authority to deliver the next stage in an upgraded Southeast Queensland Flood Forecast and Warning System (SEQ FFWS). This position will support project delivery by managing the communication and engagement portfolio of the program, which includes producing program communication and engagement collateral, organising and attending workshops, and generating regular engagement material (newsletters, etc). Our ideal candidate This is a strategic communications role. Reporting to the SEQ FFWS project manager, you will have a strong communications background with an in-depth understanding of adapting communication collateral for various platforms and channels in a project environment. You will demonstrate resilience, attention to detail, ability to problem-solve, develop, and deliver effective communication and stakeholder engagement strategies. The SEQ FFWS project is a federal initiative working closely with local and state governments. To be successful in this role you will have substantial experience • working across various levels of government, • delivering communication material for a project environment, • manage competing deadlines. Working in the project team, in partnership with teams across the Bureau, you will have the ability to engage with all levels of the organisation to understand complex topics and make them accessible to diverse audiences. Your work will be underpinned by clear logic, considered thinking, and a solid evidence-base. You may be required to travel to engage with the project stakeholders, and attend workshops, which will be located across the South East Queensland region. Build strong and effective relationships to provide communications support and advice. 3. Write and develop a range of communications content, collateral, and activities for various channels and platforms in alignment with the communications and engagement plan. 4. Ensure engagement activities are effectively delivered and suggest strategies to sustain or improve engagement actions. 5. Evaluate communication activities and report on issues/risks/successes to the Project Manager.
