Test Lead – Banking at Reserve Bank of Australia
Full‐time fixed‐term contract until December 2026
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Test Lead to coordinate and execute functional and non‐functional testing for a large‐scale infrastructure uplift program. The program involves migration of critical business services, performance testing, and failover/disaster recovery.
Key Responsibilities
* Define and assess testing scope for impacted components within the Banking domain.
* Lead end‐to‐end testing lifecycle across multiple workstreams, ensuring quality and alignment with program objectives.
* Collaborate closely with Banking stakeholders to manage and validate the defined test scope.
* Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, including migration testing and non‐functional testing (load, performance, failover).
* Develop test cases, requirement traceability matrix, and test summary reports.
* Plan, coordinate, and manage testing activities to ensure all migrated applications are thoroughly tested and ready for migration.
* Collaborate with cross‐functional teams and vendors to align testing activities with program milestones.
* Review test deliverables to ensure they meet expectations and adhere to quality standards.
* Manage defect triage and risk assessments, ensuring test readiness across all environments.
Your Background
* 10+ years of experience planning and executing Functional and Non‐Functional Testing on application migration projects.
* Proven ability to deliver comprehensive test plans in complex, high‐stakes environments.
* Strong leadership skills – managing stakeholders, prioritising tasks, and coordinating testing activities.
* Knowledge of structured test management methodologies and adherence to internal frameworks.
* Experience developing and maintaining Infrastructure Test Plans and Functional (SIT/UAT/PVT) and Non‐Functional Test Plans.
* Expertise in identifying and managing testing risks and issues, with effective mitigation strategies.
* Extensive testing experience across Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
* Exceptional interpersonal skills to collaborate and influence stakeholders.
* Strong experience drafting test documents such as Test Plans and Test Summary Reports for infrastructure projects.
Technical Capabilities
* Experience with SWIFT NPP/PAG, Azure express route, Content Platform, and Sterling is desirable.
* Establish and enforce best practices for testing to ensure high quality standards.
* Strong experience developing and implementing Test Plans for User Acceptance and E2E testing, including non‐functional testing (performance, security, failover).
* Experience in test management tools such as JIRA and QMetry.
* Strong networking capability and ability to influence stakeholders.
