**Who we are**
Australia's natural and cultural heritage is unique. The Director of National Parks (the Director) is responsible for six national parks, the Australian National Botanic Gardens, 60 Australian Marine Parks and the Heard Island and McDonald Islands Marine Reserve established under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999. Parks Australia is the federal park agency that supports the Director, and they are a division of the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (the Department). We work to showcase these natural and cultural wonders to the world, demonstrating to all why these places are so special, and inspiring communities to become more invested in their care and future.

The Parks Support Services Branch provides corporate services for Parks Australia including Human Resources, Procurement, Assurance and Governance, Legal and Finance.

The Parks Finance Section is responsible for the financial management of Parks Australia. The section supports the iconic parks and gardens through strategic and practical financial advice and guidance.

**The Job**
- Undertake reconciliations and cash receipting within the FMIS and customer trade portal on a daily and monthly basis.
- Ensure the cash related clearing accounts are cleared in a timely manner and fully cleared by the end of financial year.
- Ensure bank signatories are up to date and in line with the Agency's policy.
- Manage all aspects of the Finance Helpdesk inbox, including but not limited to aspects of accounts receivable and accounts payable.
- Follow up corporate and customer trade portal debtors and related items.
- Liaise with the Department and other stakeholders where required to resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Assist the team with other duties as required.

**What we are looking for**
**Knowledge and experience**
- Experience building and sustaining relationships with stakeholders, both internal and external.
- Experience in providing financial management support and advice.
- Knowledge of financial governance requirements and compliance with the financial management framework.
- Intermediate level proficiency in the use of Excel and SAP (or other FMIS) is essential.

**Skills and capabilities**
- Highly developed communication, interpersonal and financial skills with an emphasis on working collaboratively.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deadlines under pressure.
- Ability to work under supervision and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
- Initiative, strong problem-solving skills and an ability to think laterally.

**Desirable qualifications**
Relevant qualifications in Accounting or working towards.

**Eligibility and other requirements**
**Citizenship** - To be eligible for employment with the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water you must be an Australian citizen.

**Security Clearance** - This position requires a **Baseline Vetting** security clearance. You will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.

**Pre-employment Check** - Your suitability for employment will be assessed through a pre-employment screening process. This process includes a requirement to undergo and satisfy a National Police Check, referee checks, character clearance and where required a pre-employment medical assessment, specified mandatory qualification(s) validation and a probation period of 6 months.
