We are currently recruiting for a Drafting Trainee who will be joining a modern & well-equipped sheet metal fabrication workshop covering design, fabrication and production which caters to one off jobs through to large quantity contracts, based in Archerfield.
The main task is CAD Design Drafting with the opportunity to operate CNC Laser and Plasma Cutting machines to produce and achieve your designs.
Entry level position - Training will be provided
Responsibilities
Ensure pressing CAD production schedule is followed
Ensuring that maximisation of materials is being used
Gathering information to produce drawings and specifications
You should have hands-on experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software and have a genuine interest in the engineering trade
Calculating material and equipment requirements and setting up production methods
Assist with ensuring final designs comply with regulations and quality standards
Requirements
Genuine interest in a career in Drafting
Prior experience or knowledge in the Engineering/Fabrication industry and exposure to drafting software an advantage
Savvy with Technology is a must – Being able to pick up on things quickly and adapt
Must be reliable and punctual
High level math / English (both oral and written) skills
Excellent attention to detail
