Join a high‑performing, fast‑paced team as a Senior Events Management Consultant on a 12‑month contract with possible extension. In this exciting chance, you’ll deliver comprehensive event strategy, planning, and execution services for one of Australia’s leading government departments. You’ll play a key role in driving high‑impact events, shaping strategic outcomes, and applying your expertise across diverse, large‑scale initiatives that engage and inspire national audiences.

Role Responsibilities
- Lead end‑to‑end delivery of high‑profile events including conferences, summits, and regional tours
- Develop event strategies aligned with client objectives and provide senior advisory services on planning and delivery approaches
- Manage complex event portfolios with accountability for timelines, budgets, and quality
- Coordinate logistics including venues, travel, equipment, and on‑site management
- Implement project management frameworks, risk mitigation, and deliver post‑event analysis
- Build partnerships with external vendors and service providers
- Manage senior client relationships and coordinate across internal teams and contractors
- Facilitate stakeholder consultation across diverse audiences and senior executives
- Develop and monitor event budgets from small gatherings to large national conferences
- Navigate government procurement processes and provide detailed financial reporting
What you bring
- Minimum 5+ years of senior‑level event management experience, with demonstrated success in delivering complex, multi‑stakeholder events
- Proven track record working with government agencies or similar large‑scale organisations
- Strong commercial acumen with experience managing substantial event budgets
- Advanced project management skills and demonstrated experience in stakeholder management at executive level
- Willingness to travel interstate
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills suitable for senior executive audiences
- Strategic thinking capability with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work autonomously while maintaining regular client communication
- Flexibility to adapt to changing client priorities and urgent requirements
- Due to the nature of this work you must be an Australian Citizen with an active AGSVA Security clearance
- Desirable: Experience in a Defence environment
