About the Role:
Currently, Direct Care Resources have exciting opportunities for experienced Support Workers to join our team on a casual basis in the Adult Disability and Child Protection sectors. The role involves providing support and supervision to adults with an intellectual and/or psychiatric disability and children and young people under Child Protection Orders. We currently service clients in Toowoomba, Ipswich, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and Brisbane's North, South, and West regions.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Ongoing availability to commit to regular weekday (all day/morning/afternoon), sleepover and weekend shifts (Flexibility for extra shifts will be highly regarded)
2. Support throughout the day-to-day living including but not limited to housekeeping, cooking, grocery shopping, personal care, and hygiene
3. Community access and transportation
4. Completing shift notes and incident reports
5. Administering medication as directed in their care plan
The successful candidates will have:
1. Relevant qualifications are desired; however, they are not essential (Note: Child Protection support workers will need to have or be enrolled in a Cert IV or higher relating to the human services industry)
2. Computer literacy
3. Great written and verbal communication
4. Current Driver's Licence and own transport with comprehensive car insurance
5. Capacity to work flexible hours on a rotating roster across weekdays, weekends, public holidays. Morning, afternoons and evenings availability required.
6. Hold or willing to obtain Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Check
7. Hold or willing to obtain First Aid and CPR
8. Willingness to travel to support clients need
Please note, given the nature of the role, we require staff who are double vaccinated against COVID-19.
