Cbus Property is seeking a skilled Finance Manager to oversee the timeliness and integrity of company-wide financial information, transactional data and related processes. The Finance Manager will support the Head of Finance to develop and execute departmental strategic objectives and planning, effective management of the Finance Team, and the ability to identify and implement continual enhancements to the finance function.

This role offers a key leadership opportunity to drive operational excellence, strengthen financial governance and support the ongoing growth of the organisation.

Cbus Property is a wholly owned entity of Cbus Super, the industry superannuation fund for the construction, building and allied industries, with funds under management exceeding $105 billion as at 30 June 2025.

Cbus Property is responsible for the strategic performance and management of all aspects of the Cbus direct property investment business, including major investments and developments in the commercial office, residential and retail sectors. The property portfolio currently exceeds $7.8 billion, with a further $3.4 billion of development work 'in hand', making Cbus Property one of Australia's leading integrated property investors and developers.

Responsibilities

* Oversee daily financial operations, including transaction processing, general ledger accuracy and monthly reconciliations.
* Maintain custodian data integrity, reconciliations and reporting, ensuring accurate impacts on unit pricing and member returns.
* Partner with Development and Investment Management teams to support accurate reporting, budgeting and forecasting across all projects and portfolios.
* Manage year‑end audit processes and support group tax reporting requirements.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory obligations (FBT, PAYG, BAS) and resolve related issues.
* Prepare financial analysis, schedules and reconciliations for Management, Investment Committee, IMA and JV reporting.
* Oversee management fees, recoveries and finance support for residential settlements and treasury activities.
* Support internal audit, risk management and loan covenant reporting.
* Work with the Operations Manager to ensure data integrity across AP/AR, month-end close and ledger maintenance.
* Maintain the accounting system and drive process and system improvements across the finance function.
* Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders including auditors, advisors and finance partners.
* Contribute to finance team strategy, process optimisation and change initiatives.
* Lead, coach and develop finance team members.

Qualifications

* Professionally qualified accountant, preferably with a CA or CPA qualification.
* Strong experience in financial and management accounting and financial administration.
* Experience in statutory accounts preparation and external audit processes.
* Experience managing day to day transaction processing functions.
* Knowledge of taxation, including PAYG, FBT, GST and associated legislation.
* Excellent organisational skills and strong verbal, written communication, and presentation skills to deal effectively with internal and external contacts.
* Ability to research, analyse and interpret complex information.
* Previous experience leading a team of finance professionals
* Ability to work & manage on own initiative and within teams, prioritise work, handle pressure and take day-to-day decisions relevant to role.
* Keep up to date with current technical developments as required, changes in financial regulations and legislation.
* Proficient in financial software (experience with MRI and/or SAP Concur would be advantageous) and Microsoft Office suite.
