This opportunity offers a meaningful and hands‑on role within Bankstown Hospital, where Health and Security Assistants (HASA) play a vital part in supporting patient care and maintaining a safe, welcoming environment across the facility.

* Join a supportive multidisciplinary team across hospital wards and services, including nurses, medical officers, allied health, clerical staff and security personnel.
* Work closely with clinical staff to support day‑to‑day operations and help ensure patients feel supported from the moment they arrive.
* Collaborate with clinical and security teams to maintain a safe, respectful and patient‑focused environment.
* Use active listening and clear communication to support patients, families and colleagues, including during busy or high‑pressure situations.
* Contribute to a positive team culture by consistently demonstrating professionalism, empathy and reliability.

Selection Criteria
To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below.

* This role occasionally requires working in the morgue and performing safe manual handling tasks. Can you describe how you would maintain professionalism, follow infection control procedures, and ensure your own safety when working in sensitive or high risk environments?
* Can you give an example of a time when you used communication, de escalation, or conflict resolution skills to manage a challenging situation? How did you work with others to ensure the safety and wellbeing of everyone involved
* Participation in a 7 day rotating roster that includes weekends, public and school holidays, including morning, afternoon and night shifts
* Must hold a current Class 1A Security License with the NSW Security Industry 1997 Class 1A, Current First Aid Certificate and must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted
