The Forest Products Commission (FPC) is an efficient commercial Government Trading Entity that makes a big impact. The FPC primarily works in the pine plantation forestry sector across the diverse environment of Western Australia. Their work is shaping the future of the forest products industry.
The FPC is currently transitioning its business in alignment with the government's changes in forest policy. This will result in a shift from commercial scale native forestry management to being a contract manager providing contracted harvest and haul services to the Department for Biodiversity Conservation and Attractions for forest health outcomes. The FPC will maintain its increased softwood plantation development activity to support WA's housing and construction industry.
**About the role**
The role reports to the Chief Executive and acts as the chief governance professional within the FPC, providing independent and objective professional governance advisory services, corporate administration and advice to the FPC in respect of current best practice corporate governance requirements. This includes directors' duties, reporting and disclosure obligations and proper meetings' procedure. You will provide expert oversight and guidance, ensuring sound frameworks are in place to manage corporate risk, governance and integrity.
The position has scope to assist with internal legal matters and support for key projects.
Your conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities are supported by highly developed relationship management and interpersonal skills, engaging and facilitating outcomes with the Board and key stakeholders. Your ability to work autonomously, use initiative and exercise judgement in an environment with competing priorities are key attributes.
