Perron Institute For Neurological and Translational Science – Nedlands WA

Perron Institute for Neurological and Translational Science is an eminent WA not-for-profit medical research institute located on the QEII Medical Centre campus, Nedlands. We undertake cutting edge research on a wide range of neurological disorders and conduct specialist treatment clinics. Our aim is to provide a better quality of life for millions of people around the world who suffer with devastating neurological conditions.

About the Role

The team that this role will be supporting carries out research into personalised treatment of mental illness, specifically depression and anxiety in youth.

This role will contribute a multidisciplinary team of researchers investigating the use of pharmacogenetics to inform prescription of anti-depressant medications by providing high-quality administrative and data management support to ensure the effective operation of the PGx ADAPT project. Responsibilities include participant recruitment and screening, data management, coordination of research activities, and liaison with clinicians and other external stakeholders.

Be willing to travel within the Perth metro area

This role is offered on a part-time (0.8 FTE) fixed term basis (12-month initial contract with the possibility of extension) and predominantly based on-site in Nedlands.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide technical research and administrative support across of the PGx-ADAPT project as required.
* Manage participant enquiries, recruitment and screening, follow up with research participants at various data collection points to ensure accurate and timely data management.
* Schedule and coordinate focus groups and interviews with consumers and clinicians.
* Provide administrative support including preparation of agenda, papers, and minutes.
* Contribute to data collection, data entry, data checking and analysis.
* Maintain communication with administrative and research support services, as well as clinicians, community, and academic partners.
* Manage communication channels and (online and in-person) meetings between investigators.
* Assist with social media presence for the project.
* Provide support with purchasing and expense reconciliation as required.

Skills and Experience

* Undergraduate degree in health science or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
* Relevant administration and project support experience at an appropriate level.
* Highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills, with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
* Sound written communication skills and experience with compiling and formatting documents, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Strong IT skills and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
* Ability to work with employees and stakeholders at all levels.
* Prior experience working with general practitioners or in a clinic environment would be desirable.
* Exposure to clinical trials or research projects would be highly regarded.
