Offer description

Join to apply for the People & Culture Business Partner role at William Buck.

At William Buck, we know that talent and growth go hand in hand. You should be valued for what you bring and respected for where you want to go. We’re big enough to challenge the larger firms on the complexity of work, but small enough that you’ll feel part of the team where your contributions are recognised, your voice is heard, and you’re supported by your peers.

We are more than just Accountants and Advisors—we aspire to create a positive change in the lives of our clients and our people. Every individual who works with us is recognised for who they are and given every opportunity to progress in a way that fulfils both their talents and aspirations. William Buck people enjoy better careers because we care. It’s that straightforward.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a People & Culture Business Partner to join our team on a 12-month parental leave contract in February 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity to join our People and Culture team reporting to the Director, People & Culture, and help bridge the gap between our P & C function and divisions, ensuring our people strategies directly support organisational objectives and drive performance.

This is a full time opportunity; however, we are open to a four-day week arrangement for the right candidate.

Your Responsibilities

- Partner with divisions to provide the best practice people and culture solutions which align with strategic objectives
- Act as a trusted advisor, bringing insight and expertise to support decision making
- Support leaders with performance management, employee relations matters and workplace culture initiatives
- Collaborate with the broader P & C team to ensure consistent, high quality service delivery
- Manage operational P & C matters including but not limited to budgets, reporting and engagement surveys
- Partner with leadership to deliver strategic people initiatives and foster a positive culture

What We Are Looking For

- Tertiary qualification in Human Resources or equivalent (desired)
- 5+ years’ experience in People & Culture including 2+ years business partnering experience
- Strong understanding of employment legislation and HR best practice
- Commercial mindset with the ability to understand business drivers
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills
- Collaborative team player with a proactive, solutions‑based approach

The William Buck Difference

- Our commitment to your success extends beyond the role, with benefits designed to help you thrive
- Flexible and hybrid working environment
- Comprehensive professional development, including funded external study and memberships
- Dedicated Career Care Coach to support your growth
- Regular social and team events, CSR opportunities and D&I; initiatives

If this sounds like the right opportunity for you, we’d love to hear from you. At William Buck, we believe our differences make us stronger. We’re proud to be an equal opportunity employer and welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, experiences and perspectives.
